Summary Introduction One of the most common inertial sensors is the accelerometer, a dynamic sensor capable of a vast range of sensing.

sensors:accelerometer · SensorWiki.org - Iceweasel

Accelerometers are available that can measure acceleration in one, two, or three orthogonal axes. They are typically used in one of three modes: As an intertial measurement of velocity and position; As a sensor of inclination, tilt, or orientation in 2 or 3 dimensions, as referenced from the acceleration of gravity (1 g = 9.8m/s2); As a vibration or impact (shock) sensor.

(hold it with one axis aligned with gravity ( | )and rotate on the axis parallel to earth) (---). Axis should be aligned with accelerometer axis, not phone center. That's why several controllers, as well as phones like Neo Freeruner have two, misaligned. b) you can never navigate using accelerometer, it's a joke in precision terms. I have already tried integration of data from the accelerometer, using a data logger and a PC. C) just so we're clear, one CAN navigate using accelerometers, planes have inertial navigation systems as backups for decades.

D) I'm still trying. You can review the initial problems here ( I might get a better result if someone can and will write a better accelerometer logger. ETA: My fast car is in the shop, I'll try logging with the slower car, see if I get a result now that the white stuff is gone from the streets. Also, I now have GPS loggers and a few new ideas.

Posted by Steve on Fri 3 Jun 2005 at 09:45 Because OpenSSH allows you to run commands on remote systems, showing you the results directly, as well as just logging in to systems it's ideal for automating common tasks with shellscripts and cronjobs.

Password-less logins with OpenSSH - Iceweasel

One thing that you probably won't want is to do though is store the remote system's password in the script. Instead you'll want to setup SSH so that you can login securely without having to give a password. Thankfully this is very straightforward, with the use of public keys. To enable the remote login you create a pair of keys, one of which you simply append to a file upon the remote system.

If you don't already have a keypair generated you'll first of all need to create one. If you do have a keypair handy already you can keep using that, by default the keys will be stored in one of the following pair of files: ~/.ssh/identity and ~/.ssh/identity.pub(This is an older DSA key).~/.ssh/id_rsa and ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub(This is a newer RSA key). Autofs and sshfs – the perfect couple

Sshfs is a file system in userspace (FUSE) and can be used to mount a remote ssh account locally in a folder. This is absolutely great – If I need to work on files from my server I can use the simple command: which mounts the remote file system on bar.com over a encrypted connection to the folder sshfs/ – none of the programs is aware the files are remote and working on a file in the folder sshfs/ is the same as for local files – at least if the connection is fast enough. 3rd party applications · Razor-qt/razor-qt Wiki · GitHub - Iceweasel.
