The shot-put champion is competing in Europe and will not return until next month at the earliest. It could also take months to strip Belarusian Nadzeya Ostapchuk of her London medal after she tested positive for the banned steroid metenolone. Calls are growing for a victory ceremony in New Zealand as soon as possible - even if Adams has not received her medal. A ceremony for the 27-year-old before the All Blacks play Australia at Eden Park on Saturday week was popular online. A parade through downtown Auckland, similar to the one held for the victorious All Blacks after the Rugby World Cup, also has been suggested. Valerie Adams. Meadowbank School's year 4 students have been studying Auckland, our home, this term. As part of the study, room 5 students Rachael White, 9, Georgia Dakin and Molly Bennett, both 8, set out to find what happens each time a toilet is flushed. They were given a tour of the Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant by Jonathan Piggot of Watercare Services. The trip was organised by Matt Mates, senior wastewater treatment specialist with consulting engineers AWT New Zealand. Mr Mates was involved with designing and commissioning the plant over eight years. Meadowbank School makes environmental issues a major part of the curriculum and is one of just five Green Gold Enviroschools in New Zealand. The school received the national supreme award for environmental education in 2005. Valerie Adams left off startlist. The startling mistake emerged only hours before Adams' Olympic shot put title defence, forcing the NZOC to plead for an emergency amendment from the International Olympic Committee and the International Association of Athletics Federations. The IOC and IAAF have relented and Adams is in, but serious questions remain around the oversight which angered Adams on the eve of her Olympic title defence. But Dave Currie, chef de mission of the New Zealand Olympic team, said the NZOC would not be responding to the snafu until it had the answers to what happened. "The questions being asked are very good questions, but we need a little while to ascertain quite what has happened and how to deal with it," Currie told Fairfax Media.
