" One of the great things about photography is the myriad ways of conveying a scene to the viewer. In the end, it always comes down to a press of the shutter. For most people, making a photo begins with capturing a moment in time – 1/250, 1/60, or even 1/1000 of a second. Shutter speeds such as this will stop most action and freeze that moment.

However, at the extreme opposite end of the spectrum is capturing the passage of those moments, by using a long exposure. Typically, when using a long exposure, the shutter is kept open for anywhere from one second, to several minutes.
