"Booster" Promo. Sons of Anarchy ‘Booster’ Review. There was no reprieve tonight for the boys of SAMCRO as repercussions from the slaughter at Opie and Lyla’s wedding hit the Sons from both sides of the law. And in the middle of yet another impending gang war, the family drama is at its most strained with growing tension from all the lies that are about to be unraveled. If the sight of Gemma Teller being legitimately panicked, which doesn’t happen often, is any sign of what’s to come for the Teller-Morrow clan. Ultimately I believe the moral of this episode was, as it so often is in crime-tinged TV shows and movies, don’t ever anger the Russians.
The great thing about this episode was it didn’t shy away from any of the decisions that were made in the premiere. Jax still has every intention of leaving SAMCRO when he’s got enough of a nest egg built up to do so, and Clay is throwing himself full force into the role of a figure to truly be tangled with in their underworld of guns and drugs.
Booster: Little green bag. A review of tonight's "Sons of Anarchy" coming up just as soon as I tell you to be the badge... "Don't go setting fires where there's nothing to burn. " -Clay "Booster" ends with the SAMCRO clubhouse trashed and the club itself on the verge of falling to pieces over Clay's plan for them to become drug mules for the cartel. The guys begin cleaning up the place, and Tara briefly lightens the mood by announcing that she and Jax are engaged, but the wounds inside the club seem like they'll be much harder to repair than the damage Roosevelt(*) and his men did. (*) Rockmond Dunbar had a terrific introduction last week, but boy does he really announce his presence with authority in this one.
On the plus side, though, the deal allows the show to bring in both Danny Trejo and Benito Martinez(**) as the cartel's representatives, and the presence of both gentlemen is welcome. What did everybody else think? Romeo to the Rescue! If "Out" set the stage for season four - freeing SAMCRO members from jail, establishing new authorities in Charming and a new gun-running role for the club - then "Booster" focused on the players that take that stage every week. And that's my favorite aspect of Sons of Anarchy. Sure, I'm intrigued by the impending RICO case and curious about the steps a mysterious ADA and a strict sheriff, under pressure from the Mayor, will take to further it.
But I'm far more anxious to sit back and watch as various Sons and Old Ladies deal with the internal struggles and disagreements that were laid out so perfectly this week. This show is at its best when external forces shine a bright, dramatic light on the individuals that comprise SAMCRO and their relationships with each other. It all starts with Clay and Jax, of course, who surprised me here by talking openly with each other. Clay wants a big score before he gets out, and Jax wants an agreement that he can depart when Clay leaves. Not one bit. ‘Booster’ introduces the Galindo Cartel. At the end of last week’s Sons of Anarchy season 4 episode SAMCRO killed a whole mess of Russians and Gemma found out that either Jax or Tara have been reading John Teller’s letters to Maureen.
Both events will have quite a bit of fallout. What does it all mean? Why nothing good for our favorite citizens of Charming, naturally! Introducing the Galindo Cartel Now that the Russians are out of the game (you know, since SAMCRO killed a good portion of their NorCal contingency) the guys don’t have to worry about a middle man in their gun running trade. And they have a new, very wealthy and very connected buyer: The Galindo Cartel. Jax & Opie: Old Lady and Russian troubles After the Russians were found the next morning, you can imagine what the lead story on the news was! The Girl Who Knew Too Much When Gemma tells Clay that she found evidence of John’s letters to Maureen, Clay just told her to relax and not get worked up over something that could be nothing.
Roosevelt Hulks Out Other Stuff: "Booster" Review. More SONS: Recaps | News | All TV Recaps | TVOlogy When we last left SAMCRO, they had left jail, executed some Russian genocide, and left the bodies on Mayor Hale's new development. "Booster" picks up the morning after, taking a short stop in the homes of the three big couples in the club: Gemma and Clay, Jax and Tara, and Opie and Lyla. When Gemma sees the news, Clay offers to tell her everything, but she doesn't want to get involved. Tara, on the other hand, wants Jax to tell her everything, while Opie just straight up lies to Lyla and claims they didn't kill the Russians. None of these are long scenes, but they speak volumes to how an old lady's role changes depending on how much time she's spent with the club.
From there, we get to see one more couple's reaction to the dead Russians in the brand new law enforcement duo of Potter and Roosevelt. They take the news back to the club, who are pretty much all anti-drug running. What follows is probably the best part of the episode.
