My Morning Download. Cherokee Red are a five piece from Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, fronted by Christiana Bartolini who formed the five piece in 2011 with guitarist and pianist Charles Davis. Cherokee Red’s songs are hazy and dreamy, sort of like Beach House with a little more clarity, and also reminiscent of the late 80′s Paisley Underground psychedelic dream pop band, Opal. The band releases its debut self-titled album on April 16th. The band play at JR’s Bar on Thursday, April 18th. Ireland’s Little Green Cars arrive to Johnny Brenda’s to provide their indie/fifties influenced style tonight.
