Parallella | $99 Linux Supercomputer. A13-OLinuXino. Tiny $57 PC is like the Raspberry Pi, but faster and fully open. It would be difficult to overstate the popularity of the tiny Raspberry Pi computer that launched earlier this year, but it's just one example of a rapidly growing class of small, inexpensive, Linux-powered devices, as I've already noted on several occasions before. The Cubieboard and the UG802 are two of the more recent examples to appear, even as the Raspberry Pi itself has been continually improved, but since then another came to light: the A13-OLinuXino. “A13-OLinuXino is a low-cost single-board Linux computer in a very compact nano-ITX form,” explains Olimex, the product's Bulgarian maker. Priced at 45 euros, or about $57, the A13-OLinuXino uses a faster processor than the Raspberry Pi does, and it's also completely open, its maker says.

You can order it online from the Olimex site. Android 4.0 and Debian Included in the A13-OLinuXino is an Allwinner A13 Cortex A8 processor running at 1GHz (the Raspberry Pi runs at 700MHz) along with a 3D Mali400 GPU and 512 MB of RAM. Cubieboard - open ARM box. Adapteva. Introducing Raspbery Pi à la mode | Bald Wisdom. Our first prototypes are back, and working quite well! SeeedStudio fabricated the prototype boards and quickly sourced the parts. The boards were of excellent quality. We ran into a few hiccups along they way, but Seeed Studio took care of them right away, and rushed to make up time. If you haven’t been following, Anool Mahidharia, Justin Shaw and I from the Wyolum.com OSHW collaborative have been developing a stackable Arduino compatible for the Raspberry Pi.

While there are lots of emerging examples of interfacing hardware to the Pi, it’s just not as easy as the Arduino, and the Arduino already has hundreds of libraries for interfacing with motors, sensors, and displays. Here are the features including a few extra goodies: Flexible power. We’re in limited Beta right now, but as soon as it’s thoroughly tested, we hope to produce them for sale as soon as we can! Share.
