Foursquare Posts 1 Billion Checkins. Foursquare, which hit 10 million users a few months ago, has announced that it posted its 1 billionth checkin sometime last week. The announcement is the latest milestone for the location-based services firm. Foursquare accomplished the benchmark in about two-and-a-half years. The company launched in March 2009. If you're playing along at home, that means that each of Foursquare's users has checked in an average of 100 times.
