Foursquare. Apple's New iPhone Is "Complicated And Difficult To Assemble" Most Common iPhone Passcodes | iPhone | Daniel Amitay. Top ten iPhone passcodes: [1234, 0000, 2580, 1111, 5555, 5683, 0852, 2222, 1212, 1998]Naturally, 1234 is the most common passcode: mimicking the most common internet passwords. To put this into perspective, these 10 codes represent 15% of all passcodes in use. Most of the top passcodes follow typical formulas, such as four identical digits, moving in a line up/down the pad, repetition. 5683 is the passcode with the least obvious pattern, but it turns out that it is the number representation of LOVE (5683), once again mimicking a very common internet password: “iloveyou.” Interestingly, 1990-2000 are all in the top 50, and 1980-1989 are all in the top 100. I would interpret this occurrence as a subset of users that set their passcodes to the year of their birth or graduation.

To test this, I found the average expected occurrence for numbers matching a specific decade’s format: Apple makes Find My iPhone free for all iOS 4.2 users | Phones | iOS Central. As a part of Monday’s release of iOS 4.2, Apple will make the “Find My iPhone” set of remote-control features previously found in its $99-per-year MobileMe service available for free to owners of at least one iPhone 4, iPad, or fourth-generation iPod touches. (A previous version of this story said all iOS 4.2-compatible devices were covered; however, Apple's iOS 4.2 page and press release specify that signing up for the feature requires one of the latest versions of the hardware.

According to Apple, "Once you create an account on a qualifying device, use your Apple ID and password to enable Find My iPhone on your other devices running iOS 4.2. " So as long as your household has one current-generation device, you can use the feature on all your devices running iOS 4.2.)

Once users upgrade those devices to iOS 4.2, they can enable the feature by opening the Settings app, tapping on “Mail, Contacts, Calendars,” and then tapping Add Account. From the next menu, tap on MobileMe. How it works.
