Paterson says he is not resigning - The Business Review (Albany):

David Paterson New York Gov. David Paterson defended himself from mounting criticism on Wednesday, maintaining it’s in the state’s best interest that he remain governor. In recent weeks, Paterson has been caught up in two unrelated problems. Late last month, there were reports of the alleged involvement of Paterson and his State Police detail in a domestic violence case involving one of Paterson’s high-ranking aides. On Wednesday, the state Commission on Public Integrity said it had reasonable cause to accuse Paterson of illegally accepting free tickets to a New York Yankees game last fall—and then lying under oath to the commission and having a check for the tickets backdated.

State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is investigating the domestic violence case. Asked if he lied to the commission about the Yankees tickets, Paterson flatly replied, “No.” “I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong that should merit that I shouldn’t be governor,” Paterson said. National group forms for cyclists, and Google adds biking directions. Two interesting developments for those of us who like to pedal.

National group forms for cyclists, and Google adds biking directions

Earlier this week, a new organization and website were launched called peopleforbikes.org. The idea is basic advocacy for bicycles: More bike lanes, trails, awareness, etc. Or, as the website says, "to make bicycling safer, more convenient and appealing for everyone. It's starting with a grassroots approach to getting hundreds of thousands of people signed on so that they can be more effective when they go to Congress to push for funding. Check it out at www.peopleforbikes.org/ Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Google maps started including biking directions.

The New York Post tried it out and decided it had a few flaws: " A helmet may not be enough to protect cyclists from Google Maps' latest feature. "Google overlooked the far safer Park Drive that loops through the park. " But I remember that the first directions on Google and Map Quest had their problems, too. There's an explainer here. All in all, it's promising. @alexpriest - I had an idea like that called RandomlyQuestioned.com but worked on first. I would love to talk! Politics Online Conference. Using Twitter and Linkedin to get a Job – Paul Weston’s Story — Just Professionals

Paul is a normal guy, an estimator from Essex who like many of his colleagues was made redundant recently. So how come he’s on the radio? From the outside social tools like Twitter and Linkedin can seem impenetrable and confusing, but in essence they are simply channels of communication between people. Linkedin is largely used by people who have professional connections – the people they work with, and twitter by people who have much wider connections, some professional and some social, and some both. I first met Paul on twitter a few months ago when he was working for an Interiors fitout company and we planned to get together at a networking event to see if we could help each other’s companies get new business. And our friends tweeted about it.

And their friends. And it got onto Linkedin. And it got on the Radio.
