Google recently announced that it closes its Google Answers service that was created in 2002-2003. Google Answers is a second attempt of Google at Q&A service where live researchers answer questions on any topic for a fee. I am not sure if the Google Answers service had any novelty when it was launched, but it evolved over time. Initially it was very similar to the first paid online Q&A service Experts exchange launched in 1996.In order to develop a strategy for its future, an $8-billion energy company needed to identify the forces that would influence its industry. Previously, the company had used outside consultants to conduct a scenario building process with the top 15 corporate officers. Results were disappointing - final reports sat on the shelf. To make a real difference this time, the process had to go deeper and involve more people across the company to get grass-roots buy-in for recommended changes.

Robert Caro has been working on his biographical series The Years of Lyndon Johnson for about 35 years. The long-awaited fourth volume , "The Passage of Power," is due out on May 1. It covers Johnson's vice presidency and his ascension to the presidency after John F. Kennedy's assassination . An excerpt from the book concerning the events of Nov. 22, 1963, was published in the April 2 issue of The New Yorker . This volume's predecessor, “Master of the Senate,” was published in 2002 and earned Caro a Pulitzer Prize for Biography.
