DIY Project: Tiered Hanging Pots. When you collect as many things as I do, floor and table space can quickly become precious commodities.

DIY Project: Tiered Hanging Pots

Having shelves full of plants is just not feasible in the studio, but I was not going to let that stop me from pursuing my dream of building a little greenhouse. If you have an interest in going vertical with your greenery, you could whip up this tiered hanging planter in a day. You just need a tiny bit of scrap wood, some rope and a few basic woodworking tools. Sewing 101: fabric boxes. It seems no matter what I do, I can never get a handle on all the tiny odds and ends that accumulate around my house.

sewing 101: fabric boxes

From craft materials to hair ties, the bits and bobs are constantly trying to take over, so in the never-ending quest to corral them, these little fabric bins were born. You can make one of these soft boxes in almost no time, and in almost any size, so you can customize them to perfectly fit whatever you need to hold. Top each one off with a label holder (also customizable in any shade of the rainbow, thanks to nail polish), and you’ll have a leg up on clutter . . . for a little while, at least. — Brett Bara Read the full how-to after the jump . . . Not only is Aldo commemorating their 40th anniversary this year, they’re also celebrating their long term commitment to reduce waste.

By adding handles to their eco-friendly shoe boxes and turning them into bags, the goal is to reduce bag consumption by 40% this year and 70% by the end of next year. So when Aldo asked us to repurpose their special edition shoe box into something functional, we embraced the challenge. Reuse, repurpose, recycle . . . no problem. You’ll need: Start by measuring the length and width of each side of the shoebox, including the lid. Dip the sponge brush in Mod Podge and generously brush it over the entire top of the lid. Lay the cut paper over the wet area. Once all the sides are covered in paper, coat the entire shoe box with a layer of Mod Podge.

Once the lid and the box are completely dry, stack the spools of ribbon along one side of the box. Camera carrier insert tutorial. A few months a go I showed you a preview of the camera carrier insert I sewed.

I didn’t hold on the tutorial by accident, I actually wanted to give my honest review (and changes I would make to improve) along with a tutorial. I’ve been using the carrier for months now and it works great with the exception of some details I will describe so you can improve your own version (if you decide to make one for yourself) I have to say that I completely love my camera carrier, and changing purses is super easy! My carrier fits in all my purses, in some more tight than others, so when I need to carry more than just my camera I simply choose a bigger handbag, works beautifully! The problems I’ve had so far with my carrier are the following: So now to the materials and instructions, because you should make one for you too!

Upon the death of my husband's PC last week, I convinced him to come over to the Apple side. Because he's a lovely man, he thought we should get a bigger one this time around and that said bigger one should become mine. So this put me in the market for another laptop sleeve. I decided to go a different route this time around (see my last creation here), and make a tutorial of it. If you've checked out any of my tote tutorials, these steps will seem familiar.
