Post it War est un site ouvert le mois dernier consacré à ce phénomène récent qui consiste a recréer des images en post-it sur les fenêtres. Né à Montreuil entre les bureaux d’Ubisoft et de la BNP, les post-its ont gagné la Défense et ne cessent de s’étendre. On y trouve une prédominance de personnages issus des jeux vidéos old school (forcément, c’est plus facile avec les pixels), mais l’on retrouve aussi Yoda, Obélix ou Tintin, donnant parfois lieu à de savantes compositions !

Christian Louboutin Men’s Paris Store Opening | Hypebeast
Well-known for his men’s studded loafers, Christian Louboutin has made significant strides in the expansion of his brand to the male footwear market since adopting the menswear line in 2008. The designer is once again in the headlines for the discreet opening of the brand’s first-ever men’s shop in the Galerie Véro-Dodast in Paris, France. Having worked together on past brick & mortar outfits, Louboutin enlisted the help of designer Eric Clough to incorporate the store’s studded leather floors and embroidered leather walls. To give the store a masculine appeal, vintage airplane seats, a tin ceiling, and a Star Trek table and chair were assimilated to give the interior a bold distinction from the nearby women’s boutique.
The last project I featured by SINGLE speed DESIGN was an amazing modern remodel . This time they have done a remodel and expansion. I really like that they didn’t change the footprint of the house but just expanded the volume. They were able to open up the second level and let natural light in.

If you thought we were over posting log cabins and snow inspiration on the blog being that it’s definitely still summer, you’re wrong. It’s hotter than heck here and we will will the cool weather here any way that we can. If that involves posting about gorgeous, heat-challenged locations and the awesome architecture they sport, well, we’re happy to do our part. Today’s Live Modern inspiration is the North Lake Wenatchee House. Besides making me jealous I never grew up around a place named “Lake Wenatchee,” you can see how stunning the interior and exterior of this house is as you stand, shivering, looking at it from the cold (if indeed it will ever be cold again).

Dans un ancien relais de chasse du XIIIème siècle, surplombant une étroite vallée sur les hauts de l'Agenais, une galeriste parisienne s'installe à demeure et partage avec ses hôtes de passage le plaisir d'une halte paisible et nature. Façade de l'ancien relais exposée au soleil. À la belle saison, les hôtes peuvent prendre leur petit-déjeuner ou leur dîner (table d’hôtes le soir) sous la pergola en fer forgé (réalisée par le père de Nathalie) et recouverte de glycine blanche et rosier grimpant face à un coucher de soleil sur la plaine d’Agenais.
While we love a sleek modern home, we tend (personally, for this blogger anyway) to really appreciate eclectic styles and the modern solutions that people and designers come up with when they are faces with two styles. There could be two styles because of two personalities of people sharing a home, or, in this case, when the home’s inherent style is very strong and quite a bit different than the home owner’s. We’ve seen rustic/modern attempted before, but never quite as stunning as this interior renovation of a home in Space by Anne Girod. This house has mountains of character — huge wooden beams and trusses, stone walls, earthy materials and touchable textures. The designer did the house justice by leaving a lot of that character visible, choosing to only perhaps lighten up a few, clean or brighten up parts.

Chimecco Kinetic Sculpture | Design Milk
Chimecco is an interactive instrument and kinetic sculpture by artist, architect, and designer Mark Nixon , which was recently exhibited at Sculpture by the Sea in Aarhus Denmark. Made from 600 50mm diameter gold anodized aluminium pipes ranging in length from 120 mm up to 3750mm, the pipes are attached to the underside of a bridge, creating a sort of instrument that resembles a giant insect. On the top of the bridge are interactive nodes that allow people to “play” it. The instrument is completed by the combined interactions of human and natural movement, but it can never be experienced in its totality. According to Mark, the design is based on the idea of music and interaction as a catalyst for conversation and play. Also, the idea that the “hidden” sculpture could, in fact, remain hidden unless the wind were to blog a certain way, revealing itself to the listener.Maybe it’s the red-hot, sweltering heat we’re starting to feel where we’re located, but we needed to look at a home and some interiors that would bring us some sweet heat relief. We bet whatever the temperature is outside, this home is sure to cool off its inhabitants and guests. Located in a suburb of a Sapporo city in Japan, it definitely is a starkly modern home without a lot of color, sure to soothe the soul and fan you off with cool modernism.
