Article du mois Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボール en romanji : Doragon Bōru), crée par Akira Toriyama en 1984, est une franchise pour adolescent et jeunes adultes (Shônen) bien qu'aussi populaire chez les plus jeunes. Elle consiste premièrement en une série de mangas, 4 séries animées, 18 OAVs, un film d'action chinois non-officiel, des cartes à échanger, un nombre impressionnant de jeux vidéos, produits dérivés et figurines. Dragon Ball rencontre chaque jour de plus en plus de fans, ce qui à fait de lui un des termes les plus recherchés sur les divers moteurs de recherches du web. Dragon Ball prend son inspiration et plusieurs de ses personnages dans le conte traditionnel chinois "Le Voyage en Orient" bien qu'il s'en éloigne assez rapidement. On suis l'histoire de Son Gokû, le personnage principal (basé sur Sun Wukong dans le voyage en orient) depuis son enfance jusqu'à ses vieux jours.
