John Mayall , OBE (born 29 November 1933) is an English blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter, whose musical career spans over fifty years. In the 1960s, he was the founder of John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers , a band which has included some of the most famous blues and blues rock musicians. They include Eric Clapton , Jack Bruce , Peter Green , John McVie , Mick Fleetwood , Mick Taylor , Don "Sugarcane" Harris , Harvey Mandel , Larry Taylor , Aynsley Dunbar , Hughie Flint , Jon Hiseman , Dick Heckstall-Smith , Andy Fraser , Dave Navarro , Johnny Almond , Walter Trout , Coco Montoya and Buddy Whittington . [ edit ] Biography Mayall's father was Murray Mayall , a guitarist and jazz music enthusiast . From an early age, John was drawn to the sounds of American blues players such as Lead Belly , Albert Ammons , Pinetop Smith , and Eddie Lang , and taught himself to play the piano, guitars, and harmonica. Matthew Paul Miller (born June 30, 1979), known by his Hebrew name and stage name Matisyahu ("Gift of God"), is an American reggae and alternative rock musician. Known for blending traditional Jewish themes with reggae, rock and hip hop beatboxing sounds, Matisyahu's 2005 single " King Without a Crown " was a Top 40 hit in the United States. [ 1 ] Since 2004, he has released four studio albums as well as two live albums, two remix CDs and two DVDs featuring live concerts. In addition, Matisyahu played the role of Tzadok in The Possession , a supernatural horror film directed by Ole Bornedal and co-produced by Sam Raimi . Through his career, Matisyahu has worked with Bill Laswell reggae producers Sly & Robbie , and Kool Kojak .Cartoons , also known as Cartoons DK were a technobilly/ glam pop band from Denmark , best known for their 1998 Eurodance cover of the 1958 novelty song , " Witch Doctor " by Ross Bagdasarian , as well as for their outlandish plastic costumes and wigs used in live performances as caricatures of 1950s American rock and roll stars . Many of their hits are Europop covers of old rockabilly hits. The band has so far sold over 2 million albums, [ citation needed ] making them one of the most successful Danish pop bands ever. [ citation needed ] They have also been nominated for Danish Grammys according to their official website.
