Green Activities For Kids. Welcome to My Science Box! | My Science Box. DIY Picture Tiles - You Will Never Buy a Photo Frame Again. Lately I’ve been having this huge urge to decorate the house. This is big news. I do not decorate. Arguably, one of the reasons why is because I. absolutely. hate. to. buy. mass. produced. decor. (Also, I can’t ever remember if pink and purple go together or not.) Anyway, this extends to photo frames. You might think, with my trigger finger on the camera all the time, my house would be littered with photos. Nope. Long story short, I discovered this method of transferring my photos cheaply, quickly, and beautifully to something uncommon and unique. Tiles. The only thing that’s not particularly crunchy about this is that it uses Modge Podge or similar (and I’m not sure what’s in Modge Podge).

It’s just grainy and doesn’t dry clearly. Boo. BUT, if you can overlook that one minor issue, I think you’ll love this. And it will be glorious. Here’s how you do it. First, you need to go to Home Depot, Lowes, or something like it. (FYI, I found that Lowes prices on tiles were cheaper than Home Depot. Swirly Stones | Kids' Painting Ideas. They especially love putting out treats for their feathered friends. It is amazing how quiet and still a three & five year-old can be - completely memorized. So, for gifts this year we are keeping it simple - giving an experience rather than just more stuff. We are giving the experience of spending a few moments watching nature - a few moments to slow down, and relax. These molded bird seed ornaments are a lot of fun to make, and very inexpensive. You may already have all the materials you need in your home - we were able to make gifts for all the wonderful friends in our life for around $3.

I found this recipe here, and it worked great! You'll Need: 3/4 cup flour 1/2 cup water 1 envelope unflavored gelatin 3 tbsp. corn syrup 4 cups birdseed molds (muffin tin, cookie cutters, etc.) 1: Combine the flour, water, gelatin and corn syrup in a large mixing bowl. 5: Cut your ribbon and carefully put it through the hole. [Title] [text TOC] [image TOC] [Site Search] [Donation] This little gift box was taught to me by Jean Caster.

She uses them for her Wooden Carved Pocket Angel. Its finished size is 1 3/4" square by 7/8" tall. This is a great way to make a small box for that special little gift. Neatness and accuracy really count in making this box. If you want to give the makers a little help, cut out the squares before hand.

Make the bottom of the box from white card stock paper or the back of a Christmas card. Make the lid of the box from colored card stock (add stickers or a bow to brighten it up) or from the front of a Christmas card. To make the lid or top use a ruler to measure and draw a perfect square 5 inches on a side. Now fold one corner to the center of the square where the diagonal lines intersect and make a good crease. Next fold the side in again to the diagonal line and make a sharp crease.

Repeat steps 3-4 for the opposite corner. Unfold the lid. Copyright © 2006 Vincent Hale. 100 Awesome Engineering Projects for Kids. As you can see, even some of the male camp leaders joined in. I got the idea from Stormdrane at Instructables.com. His tutorial is excellent, but although the site pictures two-color bracelets, he doesn’t explain how to make a two-color bracelet. I wanted to keep it simple for camp anyway, so we made one-color bracelets. By the way, paracord bracelets are also known as survival bracelets.
