After seeing yet another dozen of documentaries we started building some large wooden masks. The masks were first made to fit in our Solar Weekend Festival stage but were designed to take home afterwards for displaying on a wall. The geomteric shapes were build op symetrical on both sides and inspired on transformers as well as old indian masks. Build with 3mm multiplex the masks may look solid and heavy but are in fact very light weight.

Directed by, visuals and programming by Memo Akten Choreography by Alexander Whitley Dancers Robin Gladwin and Miguel Altunaga “Reincarnation” is an off-shoot film born while creating visuals for The Rambert Dance Company and flat-e ‘s “Iatrogenesis” performance at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank, London UK. Created with custom software (c++ using openframeworks + opencv + opengl) tracking the motion of the dancers and generating these visuals, abstract layers containing subtle hints of human forms and motion. This film (and music) is not representative of the visuals (and music) of flat-e & Rambert’s “Iatrogenesis”. New version 6 now available (new location) This page includes downloads of application,documentation and tutorials for the videoprojectiontool (VPT), and the more basic but very useful cornerpin keystone tool. The applications were originally made for teaching workshops, but has developed into more general projection tools. They are built using maxmsp+jitter, and are primarily intended for people who don´t have these applications. They work both for mac osx and windows xp (I haven´t tested them on vista but they should work).
3D Video Projection Mapping is an astonishing projection technology that allows to create dynamic displays out of any surfaces. High Tech software is used to distort any projected image in order to fit perfectly the uneven shaped screens.This relatively new technique made people around the world incredibly creative and they started to illuminate buildings, architectural elements, 3d elements, statues or sometimes amazing projects used in advertising as those for the Pepsi Can or for running shoes. When I saw this video projection technique for the first time I started thinking about how I can create something similar. Je suis le fondateur et le directeur artistique d'une petite société de design vidéo appelée JOHNNY BE basée à Los Angeles. Notre secteur d'activité se concentre surtout dans la production de systèmes et de médias pour des spectacles de petites ou de grandes envergures. Je suis souvent sur la route en tant que régisseur vidéo pour des tournées mondiales avec des groupes comme que Dream Theater ou The Glitch Mob. De temps à autres, nous travaillons aussi dans d'autres domaines artistiques comme les œuvres d'art publiques, l'architecture ou le théâtre.
