What is brain based learning?

Brain based learning is the newest science of how the brain works and how to best support a developing brain. The brain is such a remarkable organ. Human life begins as a single cell. Then, nine months later an infant is born with a wonderful nervous system that contains about 100 billion nerve cells. The nerve cells that handle information processing is a neuron. The brain has different types of memory. Not only does the brain have different connections happening. There are 3 distinctive types of memory that are described in the Educational Psychology book. Semantic Memory is the memory that helps us remember facts and different pieces of generalized information. Procedural Memory is the memory that helps people know how to do the things that they do.
