The Big Game Hunter

Récemment, un marchand de jeux par correspondance dont le nom commence par la lettre Phi et se termine par la lettre Bert bradait à un prix dérisoire un petit ouvrage de Reiner Knizia intitulé Blazing Aces ! publié en 2007 par Convivium Publication (pour l'Angeterre) et Fred Distribution (pour les USA)... et imprimé en Chine. Eh oui... Sur la couverture, figurait une gravure ancienne, comme dans les dernières pages des albums de Lucky-Luke, montrant un groupe de cow-boys assis autour d'une table, occupés à jouer aux cartes, tandis qu'un autre personnage, debout celui-là, la main sur la crosse de son revolver, et une doigt tendu vers les piles de jetons, s'exclamait dans un phylactère : "Y en a marre du poker ! jouons à un truc nouveau !"

On me demande souvent si on peut jouer à tel jeu sur du sable, à tel autre dans la forêt, etc. Et souvent je laisse les gens réfléchir sans leur donner de réponse. Ce n'est pas par méchanceté, c'est juste que je n'en sais rien. Ou plutôt que ça dépend du contexte et du lieu.

I was recently able to give the latest version of Mario Party a try, and put it through its paces. I have extremely fond memories of the first Mario Party title on the N64, spinning that little joystick like a madman to various goofy, yet fun, minigames. Players competed for stars within a quick series of matches or a strange sort of boardgame structure. The Bumper Balls minigame in particular was a masterpiece.
