As my first actual article on the site, I thought I’d make a little tutorial on how to pixel your own 16*16 sprite, that you can use as a favicon for your website or game. There are many ways to go about pushing pixels, and this is just one of them. Sadly, this tutorial will not teach you how to draw or come up with nice ideas, sorry. Also I will not go into program-specific details, you need to have some basic familiarity with the software you want to use. Fire up your app of choice (mine is GraFX2, but you may be more comfortable with Photoshop, GIMP or what-have-you), and make a new 16*16 pixel document.

Vous n'êtes pas sans savoir qu'une guerre de post-it fait actuellement rage entre différentes entreprises parisiennes, dont le but consiste à imiter des images pixellisées et par là même donner l'apparence d'une société décontractée qui prend du bon temps (n'est pas France Télécom qui veut). Vous saurez toutefois que cette pratique n'est pas nouvelle et se fait appeler le Pixel Art, encore qu'avec ce cas parisien il ne s'agit pas d'art mais juste d'une concurrence amusante affichée. Toutefois, il est facile d'en trouver dans ce trésor qu'est l'Internet : Le post-it permet à tout le monde de pouvoir mettre en forme des pixels carrés un par un, c'est pourquoi certains utilisent le concept et le déplacent dans quelque chose de beaucoup plus artistique et loufoque, voir par exemple cette vidéo où tout se fait en mouvement grâce à une animation image par image, assez impressionnant.
