Snowball Candleholders. These snowball candle holders were really easy and I love how they turned out! Start with basic candle holders from a craft store or dollar tree. Use a paint brush to apply mod podge. Sprinkle on some Epsom salt (found in the first aid section) and allow to dry. Brush on a second coat of mod podge and more Epsom salt. The salt gives gives a little sparkle and enough coverage that battery operated tealights look like real flames. Glittered Deer Table Decorations - Martha Stewart Christmas. Christmas jars. My first little project I wanted to share was my pretty Christmas jars. I have sort of had an obsession this Christmas with anything bottlebrush - trees, wreaths, etc.
It all started with a bottlebrush wreath that I bought at my favorite store in Utah, The Busy Biddy. I began looking at tons of pictures from different blogs and then became offically crazy. With this project, I really just wanted to do something super simple (obviously these little jars and trees could be totally bedazzled) that just showed off mini bottlebrush trees covered in snow. I found all of my trees at Hobby Lobby for super cheap. When I bought them they were green. 1a2011_09_05_1980%255B8%255D.jpg (image) How To: Make a Clementine Candle | Apartment Therapy New York. Button Wreath Ornament - Martha Stewart Christmas. Fantastic Plastic: PVC Wreath - Today's Nest. I am very lucky to have attended the International Food Bloggers Conference in Portland, Oregon last weekend.
It was 3 days completely packed with information, fun, and, as you might have guessed… food. The city of Portland was welcoming and friendly. Apparently, I visited on a perfect weekend. The weather was stuff we only dream of in Dallas. Foods, and particularly healthy foods, played an important part of the event and evidently in the Portland culture overall. One such manufacturer is Bob’s Red Mill. Several weeks before attending I received an email inviting me for a tour of the facility along with several other conference attendees. A Holiday Wreath. I've started my holiday decorating with a simple wreath for my front door. Every time I go to the craft store I longingly gaze at all the pretty wreaths. Then I stroll on, because I can't get myself to spend $20+ dollars on one.
When I saw how inexpensive this unfinished twig wreath was (something like $3.00 or $4.00) I decided to try making one from scratch. I found some berries for a buck a piece and a couple of star ornaments for not much more. Put them all together and my door is dressed for the upcoming months. DIY Faux Curled Rosewood Wreath {Made From Rolled Recycled Book Pages} I have seen various versions of Faux Rosewood Wreaths in just about every store and catalog for the upcoming season; most with a price tag running upwards of $40 or more. Some are crafted of paper and other of real wood shavings. Last year I made a few rolled flower gift toppers from recycled book pages and they remind me so much of the curled wood roses I thought they would make a good substitute.
{with a much lower price tag} Materials Needed:Foam Wreath FormRecycled Book PagesLots of Hot GlueRibbon to Hang The full step by step tutorial I posted last year can be found {here}.Basically you layer three book pages together and draw a spiral circle. Starting with the outside of the spiral, roll the paper inward to create the flower shape. Give the wreath form a light coat of white {or light color} spray paint to help camouflage any see-through spaces. It seriously takes quite a few roses to fill the entire wreath, however I think the finished project has such a unique look. {Simply Lovely} Bling Wreath Tutorial and giveaway!!
