DECADE an illustrated diary

I've been stealing branches of flowers from this tree on our street, I took a photo of it along with a collection of other fresh little things that I gathered up this week. What better way to start Spring with some stripes and lace - the striped shirt is from A.P.C and Alicia brought me back this cute COS bra set from her recent trip to Paris (I had made a collage with this lacy little thing in a past post . You can also take a peek at Alicia's Paris pictures on her tumblr .) It was also time for a new pair of ballet flats, J.Crew makes the best ones . Beautiful Italian leather and made in every color imaginable.
Illustrating the one-dimensional image that is portrayed in film, commercials and stories in magazines of the male preferences in types of women.

Thank god for Ashish on the last day of LFW, a hit of sequins is exactly what your sleep deprived eyes need just then. Ashish is always a blast, what else is there to say? I want one of those multi coloured leopard sequined biker jackets pretty bad, that’s what. And a great big BE HAPPY jumper too.

Art by Caitlin Shearer

http://caitlinquiet.blogspot.com/ I have been keeping these illustrations tucked away for far too long - the plan was for them to be featured on the site, along with an interview, as part of a collaboration series with selected illustrators - but then the site was refurbished and i suppose it was forgotten about. I'm quite pleased with how they turned out, so i'll just share them here instead. As a kid I was given heaps of illustrated storybooks and was encouraged to be creative so for fun i would draw princesses and mermaids, which then evolved into portraits of the spice girls and my friends as rockstars as i got older. During early Highschool I began to draw alot in an attempt to cure loneliness and then it started becoming an obsession, so i gradually worked my way through a manner of mediums - texta, acrylics, ink pens, gouache, collage - until i finally settled on pencil and watercolour when i was about 17. During this time i'd been putting my art on the internet (livejournal!)
Recently, I removed all the prints of my paintings from my shop. They just weren’t meeting my expectations in color reproduction. So I did a fair amount of research and bought myself a really nice new printer. The result is color reproduction that is amazingly correct and suddenly I feel very inspired again. One drawing that I never planned to print will be available for the first time. (I’m only offering it for a while with the hope that it will help offset some of my equipment expenses http://pushedunder.com/woolandwater/

Quiet Girl

http://heyquietgirl.blogspot.com/ A few weeks ago, SM Parisian Shoes & Bags contacted some of us bloggers for a whole-day make-over and modeling affair. All of us were pampered and fed with yummy Bizu food. We got to choose the bags and shoes we want to match our outfit. Overall, the shoot was really fun. The staff was accommodating and I love how fast the whole shoot took: From changing, to make-up (by MaxFactor ), modeling, video and interview. I think each blogger only took an hour or two to finish.

The Sea of Fertility.

F ew weeks ago I had a interview, the topic was about fashion of traveling, such as my favorite outfit during the trip, how to dress chic, how to arrange your suitcase...Actually it is very easy to dress fashionable for summer journeys, but if we travel to somewhere during a cold weather, we have to think about it. Since I just came back from traveling, let's talk about traveling in the cold this time. T o be honest I dislike traveling during cold weather, also I didn't expect it was this windy and cold on April in the north of Germany. But I have to say this island was incredibly beautiful.
