Try to park a your car near the place and you will likely be driving in circles for a while. Try to get a good spot in the back room of the of the space in the shop where bands play and you’ll either be on your tip toes trying to sneak a peak of the band or resign yourself to just hearing them play.Cold Beat packed them in like sardines to the back room at Cairo last night. Lucky for me I’m tall, so I was able to sneak peaks of the San Francisco band while doing ballet moves.

Newtown Radio. Negative Pleasure 2, talk to me in my dreams. THE MONKS - BLACK MONK TIME (1966) This incredible and influential piece of rock history comes to us compliments of our main man KSN. I'd always heard ABOUT this record, but never actually heard it before KSN shared the wealth. I found myself absolutely blown away by the music here. Black Monk Time certainly defies classicifation, especially considering the era and musical climate of its release.
This is angry, experimental garage rock with the occasional wink-and-nudge that fans of DEAD KENNEDYS, BLACK FLAG and the MINUTEMEN will appreciate. THE MONKS' brand of rock is neither melodic or soothing. It's extremely heavy and driving, which is remarkable in itself, considering that this record predates traditional guitar distortion. If I had to make a comparison, I'd probably use The Velvet Underground & Nico, though with shrill and frantic electric organ in place of John Cale's violin. 1. The KVB. Mayo 2009. Acá hay clásicos como "Antiguos dueños de las flechas" de la negra Sosa reversionado por los Tonolec de una manera interesantísima o "Carnavalito del duende" del Cuchi, por Lorena Astudillo que tiene una voz impresionante. También en FPNTH hay temas propios de los artistas como "Chacarera del ovolácteo" de Guille Airoldi y adentro, que relata la dura vida de un paisano vegetariano que "no entiende nada de tradición" o un tema precioso de Luna Monti y Juan Quintero que nos canta la receta para hacer Chipá. Lo unico que se de ellos es que en sus primeros años manejaban un ruido muy rock and rollero pero luego su actitud empezo a ser algo mas pop y mas comercial; en este album se pueden destacar una que otra cancion que tiene muy buena letra de protesta y tiende a tener ambitos del rockabilly. Hola amigos en este post les traigo toda la discografía de BlackFlag para los que la conocen y los que no es una banda muy buena de HardCore Punk formada en 1976 en Hermosa Beach, California, Su discografía cuenta con 20 Discos de los cuales 9 son Ep's o sencillos para los que no sepan que significa Ep's; EP (extended play) es una sigla anglosajona que traducida al español significa ‘reproducción extendida’ y se utiliza como denominación para un formato de grabación musical. La duración de un EP es muy larga para considerarse como sencillo, y muy corta para considerarse como álbum,asi se le llama a los discos que tienen muy pocas canciones (5,6 etc) pero de larga duracion... eso quiere decir que son muy pocas canciones para ser un album pero duran bastante tiempo como para ser un sencillo.

A quick summary on the sound: A perfect blending of post-punk/goth/shoegaze sounds. Heavy, melancholic vocals and some of the most ethereal, dark, and overall brilliant musical compositions you'll hear anywhere. The members shifted around a bit early on (ex-Cocteau Twins, etc) before settling on a final line-up, which produced some of the most saldy over-looked songs of the style/era.
Comparable to a number of bands, including Joy Division, The Cure, SaTB, Chameleons, Cocteau Twins, Asylum Party, etc. Ok, enough out of me. Fantasmes' knick-knacks & evils. The Dickies: Archives 1. The Dickies (see here) were my first musical lie. When they played a bar show at Wellington's in 1982, I was far too young too go. However, such was my desire to have witnessed this cataclysmic event that I told my grade eight peers (friends would not be the word) that I'd snuck into the show. It wasn't completely implausible, after all one of my peers (a guy named after a city in Texas and an exotic bird) got a note from his mom to leave school school early to see an afternoon show by G.B.H. I spun a convincing tale (based solely on my brother's report) of when Leonard used the squeak toy ("Curb Job") and when he pulled out the penis puppet ("If Stuart Could Talk"). Now I still occasionally fictionalize musical experience but to slightly different ends. Truthfully, I finally did get to see the Dickies in Vancouver in '91.
