Ellis Homestead: Pekin Duck Slaughter (somewhat graphic) As many of you know, Dani and I have been raising poultry for food this last year. (5 or so months) We have been raising poultry for about 1 1/2 years, but only recently decided to eat the little buggers. So like 40 or so Chickens, 17 Turkeys, and 9 Ducks later we have finally got one up to slaughter weight! That is, got one up to weight and decided to slaughter it before some predator came and stole it first. Small-scale Poultry Processing.
