They decided to accept financial support from a wealthy family, The Brotherstons, whose daughter Grace is around the same age as Yolanda. Before meeting the Gumpos, Grace had little understanding of poverty in the UK. The families began writing to each other to find more about each other's lives. The Gumpos were able to clear their debts and improve their living conditions, and Sharon was able to pursue her dream of going to college to study. But nobody could have predicted what happened next. They did, and are now weekly boarders at the prestigious boarding school. United Nations World Food Programme. The fact that almost all countries in the world - both affluent and developing - provide school meals is proof of this.
