St. Lucia - Gal Meets Glam. 20 little things I've learned life is too short... BIG CITY QUIET: An Open Letter to my Son: Just be Yourself. Since before my son DJ was born in March 2013, I have been writing to him in the form of a book made up mostly of words of guidance that I hope he will hold dear to him as he grows older.

BIG CITY QUIET: An Open Letter to my Son: Just be Yourself

In this day and age, where we are inundated with “perfect” images of everyones' “perfect” lives across social media, I found this particular letter to be of utter importance. Son, If you take away only one thing from this book, DJ, please let it be this: just be yourself. You are good enough. Most people are afraid to do things because they are afraid they’re not good enough, afraid they’ll fail. There will be people that cross your path that will try to tell you that you aren’t good enough – not smart enough, not pretty enough, or athletic enough.

The One Thing That All Successful People Do. I’m not going to lie and tell you that I have all the answers to “success.”

How To Care For Your Sweaters: 10 Tips

Until then, we’re stuck with the job of wearer and carer. This sweater season, we are learning the art of skipping the dry cleaner and de-pilling, de-shrinking and hand washing at home, with 10 tips from the experts at New York-based garment-care boutique Madame Paulette. 1. How can you gently remove pills from a sweater? The unavoidable truth is all sweaters will pill just by wearing or cleaning them. 2. Did the sweater pick up germs or dirt? 3. Fill a sink or bucket with as much cool water as it’ll hold, then add a few squirts of a gentle detergent like Woolite (they make an Extra Delicate Care formula). 4.

Never wring anything. 5. After the wash and rinse, refill the sink or basin with enough cool water to allow the sweater to swirl around. 6. Wet the sweater down and put it in the dryer on very high heat until it’s bone dry. September things. All of a sudden it hit me–the smell of urine. I haven’t had to endure the sharp stench of urine for a very long time. The name ghetto princess whispered through my subconscious like an echo from ages past. Meant as a compliment, I could never imagine anything but a girl in a tight ponytail, hoop earrings and jeans so tight that nothing was left to the imagination. This was one of the most unpleasant memories of my childhood. The joys of living in New York City. I wish I could say that putrid elevators were the worst part of growing up in the projects. Sitting on the benches outside the apartment building also afforded me front-row seats to watching dozens of prostitutes walking into the building. How to Keep Fit When You Travel - WORLD OF WANDERLUSTWORLD OF WANDERLUST

But the hardest part of getting (and keeping) fit is starting a solid routine you can commit to. Once you’re in a routine, it is much easier to maintain than when you let it slide for a few weeks on a vacation and return home ready to get fit again.
