Songbirds: Beautiful Steampunk Sculptures

Jim begins by hand painting each bird and then adds a variety of vintage pieces when creating his sculptures. The unusual relic’s he uses, such as, croquet balls, binoculars and old toys give each inspiring bird his own personality. Objects that were cast aside as useless are used in his designs to demonstrate the fragile balance between nature and industry. These sculptures give life to the once beyond pieces of yesterday. Corbett showed artistic talent ever since he was a little boy. Colleagues at his Redcliff school would always tell him he’d grow up to be an artist. It is a clash between the peaceful nature and the raw material. French artist Pierre Matter is showing the world how beautiful copper can be by creating extraordinary sculptures out of it. Mixing it with resin, , bronze, rubber, aluminium and other materials his creations are simply fantastic. He want us to be aware of how we are living in a time where those two have interfered, and he says that even cows are just milk-making machines. Pierre has been doing this for quite some time, almost a decade, and some of the sculptures are so heavy that they weigh around 1.5 tons, imagine that. Lisa Black: Gear-Turning Steampunk Taxidermy. Lisa Black: Gear-Turning Steampunk Taxidermy

Lisa Black is a New Zealand artist with some macabre subject matter… she loves to take taxidermy to a disturbing new level that transforms animals into half animal / half machine hybrids. (Images via slamxhype, centuryguild, slamxhype) Some of Lisa Black’s depict animals more machine than organic, with frightening results. (Images via apparitionabolishers, seesomethingstrange) Who wouldn’t want a windup turtle? (Images via craftzine, superpunch, ladylavona) It’s interesting how the most minor adjustments can make an animal look so clearly mechanical. Remarkable Collection of Steampunk Sculptures. Andrew Chase, a renowned name in the world of nature-inspired artwork, has again made news with a mechanical Steampunk giraffe made from transmission parts, electrical conduit and plumbing pipe. Turning a removable crank on the side body of the animal raises its long neck. Awesome Sculptures Made Out of Old Tires. Perfect anatomical details, rawness, wildness and power are the ways to describe these animal sculptures.

Awesome Sculptures Made Out of Old Tires

So well-made you would think they’re alive. We have seen raw sculptures like these steampunk ones or these steel ones, but this is something new, and even more powerful. They are the work of Korean sculptor Yong Ho Ji who had this childhood memory stuck to his brain, a memory of the spare tire on his family’s Jeep Wrangler. So he eventually decided to make bad-ass sculptures out of tires. He uses several months to screw and glue together tires into a perfect wild animal.

The last mentioned look like they belong to a sci-fi movie with their unusual and scary looks. Shark Wolf Wild Head Wild Dog Wild Boar. Awesome Sculptures Made From Welded Chains. Cool sculptures by Stephane Halleux. Stephane Halleux was born on July 6th in Chenée (Liège), Belgium.

Shortly thereafter–and very often against his will—he was taken off to museums where he was supposed to be awakened to art in all its forms. At the age of 10, while visiting the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the work of sculptor Jean Tinguely suddenly caught his attention. He discovered the magic power of strange play-like structures without any utility purpose. In 1995, during his last high study year at Saint Luc in Liege, Stéphane created the first pieces that look similar to his current works.
