first image simple wood fan this summer was one of the longest and hottest seasons in japan since many years and to keep cool designer ryohei yoshiyuki developed a 'simple wood' hand fan for a local furniture company 'simple wood product' . the material ryohei yoshiyuki used for his hand fan is a left over material of the working process. the shape of the blade reminds us of those of old electric fans, but his blade is made of one layer of white ash wood, naturally bended without the use of any mold. this shape keeps the wood very flexible and is therefore appropriate for a hand fan. the designer intends to promote hand-powered tools instead of the use of electricity. simple wood fan simple wood fans
