Untitled. How to Apply - Bill. How we define strategy We focus on big problems where we can make the greatest impact. To bring about the kind of change that can give all people the opportunity to live healthy and productive lives, our investments must be highly strategic and focused on results. We take risks, we push for new solutions, and we believe in the transformative power of science and technology. We start by defining our major goals in the world and what we want to accomplish for people. Then we identify a path to get there and determine how we will execute to achieve those goals.

This helps us get clear on what we choose to invest in and why, and how we can partner with others to maximize impact. We pursue issues like health inequity in Africa, persistent poverty throughout the developing world, and the decline of public education in the United States. We Cannot Do It Alone Our grantees and partners are at the center of our work. Grants. We not only try to improve the health and well-being of children directly through our programs, but we also work with non-profit organizations around the world that are making an immediate, positive impact on children who need it most. Grants to these organizations extend the reach and impact of RMHC and move donation dollars quickly through to areas in their time of need.

Grants in Action We extend our reach by awarding millions of dollars to organizations who focus on providing access to health care. Burma Humanitarian Mission Training and equipping backpack medics who annually administer healthcare services to 5,280 children in villages of Burma. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Decreasing child mortality in Botswana through a train-the-trainer health care system that uses a Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) approach with plans to reach 230,000 children over two years.
