Scrum and Contracts or: Why a simple process can be so terribly complicated. This week the motto for Summer School is “Scrum & Contracts”. Marcus Antonius Hofmann, a lawyer in Munich depicts wonderfully in the following article what a dilemna lawyers are presented with when preparing a contract for a Scrum project. Boris Gloger will continue with this topic tomorrow when he introduces the various forms of agile contracts and takes a critical look at how little the Scrum community has worked with this problem. On Wednesday we will look at another interesting Case Study and on Thursday , August 5 Mr. Hofmann will be available from 2 – 4 p.m. for a Live chat via Skype (ID “marcus.a. hofmann”) on the topic of ” Agile contracts” (He will answer general questions about agile contracts, although he can not give you any specific legal advice.) Of course we all are looking forward to Friday when once again the Scrumlies will address the topic from another perspective.

Life always provides a lot of surprises for us. But this does not have to happen. Yes, it can. Www.rdosmaps.bc.ca/min_bylaws/contract_reports/CorpBd/2008/06June19/8_2_1_1WillowBeachPDA.pdf. Scrum and Contracts: Contract Template and Online-Chat. Marcus Antonius Hofmann, lawyer in Munich, who provided Monday’s elucidating Post in bor! This contract template is released under a modified Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 3.0 (by-sa) licence, also for commercial uses.

You’ll find the details with the download. Moreover Mr. Let’s hope for an exciting debate! Personal Scrum « John Pruitt. If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I have been using an adaptation of Scrum for a one-person team to manage my graduate project.

Personal Scrum « John Pruitt

I (and others) call this “Personal Scrum.” The semester-long experience was very positive. The Personal Scrum methodology was an excellent tool to get the work done. Personal Scrum Definition: Personal Scrum is an Agile methodology that adapts and applies Scrum practices to one-person projects. Personal Scrum vs. Let’s compare aspects of Scrum as defined by the Scrum Alliance to those of Personal Scrum. Scrum’s 3 Roles: Psychology and Software Development. I have recently started a new job and needed to go through my stack of software books looking for ones that might be helpful. I ran across a book I read many years ago that has probably helped me more that any other book with project management. This book is not a software book though. It is Influence, The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini, PH.D. This book helped me realize that developing software has more to do with people than computers.

I found one chapter in the book particularly helpful, Chapter 2, Commitment and Consistency: Hobgoblins of the Mind. At the time I read the book I just started as a Project Lead. I later realized that commitment and consistency was the source of the problem we where having. Extreme Programming offered a nice solution to this particular issue, the stories on a note card.

On the other hand, some things need a larger degree of commitment. Scrum has very good solution to this. Guest Blogger.
