Jesse Volunteer Abroad in BelizeReviewed by Admin on Mar 13Rating: My Favorite Memory: stepping through the front gates and immediately feeling like I’d just stepped into a place that felt like home. I was surprised… of the type of work I did every day The most difficult thing I experienced was….trying to match the energy level of all the kids. It made me feel old. almost. My best received lesson…showing the kids that having more material objects never mean being happier Tip for future volunteers… (Clothing, travel, personal items, donations, sightseeing etc) Caye Caulker is great for catching sun. However a much richer experience will be gained if you embrace fully the culture and country and dive head first into it. Personal Paragraph (Testimonial): I have had so many amazing experiences just due to the fact that I talked to every person and was open to every person I met.

Jane Volunteer Abroad in BelizeReviewed by Admin on Nov 16Rating: My Favorite Memory: On the day of my arrival, while Mr. Tillett picked me up from the airport, on the way back to the children’s home, we ran into a bunch of kids who just got off from school. They saw us and rushed into the car. The car was fully packed. It was a warm welcome! I was surprised that…. the children in Belize know who Justin Beiber is.
The most difficult thing I experienced was…. counting the chickens in the farm. My best received lesson… Be friendly! One day they let me take a sunfish and I got to take turns with a bunch of the kids – we were all having so much fun. They loved getting to go with me + we laughed all the while. In general, having all the kids sitting on my lap, hugging, pulling at me all at once.
I was surprised that….kids were so quick. The most difficult thing I experienced was….feeling the lack of appreciation from the kids. My best received lesson…mean what you say. Tip for future volunteers… (Clothing, travel, personal items, donations, sightseeing etc) Donate: vitamins, plastic tupperware, toilet papers, napkins, sponges.Sightseeing: Caye Cauker, cave tubingClothing: don’t overpack, no need for tons of clothing, one pair of pants is more than enough Personal Paragraph (Testimonial): Coming to Belize have me a chance to clear by mind, find my values and my goals.
