Sarah with an H: Hula Hoop Chandelier

It was the Perfect Sunday....Sunny and Warm. I did some yard work, Ralph did a few things around the house and washed his Truck & Harley. I spent most of my day tackling another room in our new house....The Sun Porch! I'm so excited to have finished this room...the weather is getting soooo Nice! The ceiling needs to be finished but for the most part it is done...I went to Pier One and bought the most adorable Summer dishes, The Cutest flower Napkin holders...Lowes had an Amazing Palm Tree that I had to have!! The Hula Hoop Project: I went to the Dollar Store and bought a Hula Hoop for a $1 then I went to AC Moore to get some Romantic Lace that I would cover the hula hoop in and also to use as the hanging pieces.... Lace lamp/Doiliy Lamp – DIY. We are at our little cottage in Dalarna and we are fixing it up.

Lace lamp/Doiliy Lamp – DIY

So we are able to use it even in the winter. (Dalarna is in th middle/north of Sweden. To me and Jenny it’s north but Sweden is a very tall country so I guess we are not even in the middle). Anyway it’s great cause I have the time and space to do lots of DIY projects. Starting with this lamp. First we used a huge baloon that I bought at a party store. Then you collect all the old Dollys (?) Paint them with lots of wallpaper glue so they are soaked. Hang the ballon on a string and put the soaked lace on the baloon. Then wait for a while. Pop the baloon when the glue is dry. Update 1:Some of you asked how to get the bulb into the shade. You mos def want to use a LED lamp or a energy saving bulb because it’s cold and it will not affect the glue either. I bought a nice looking iron wire in pink but when I opened the box it was red. Update 2: Problems making the lamp?! 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Miss Kopy Kat: Pointy Cone Book Page Wreath. Well, I have "pinned" so many book page wreaths on my Pinterest board that it's about time I actually MAKE one.A sponge can only soak up so much water.

Miss Kopy Kat: Pointy Cone Book Page Wreath

What I started out in my mind to make and what I endedup with are two different things. I would say that if Miss Mustard Seed's wreath and Euchristea's wreath gotmarried and had a baby, it might look like my wreath. Miss Mustard Seed Eucharistea Miss Kopy Kat With all this talk about marriage and babies, a little her idea for a book page wreath from Wendy at The Shabby Nest blog in 2009. (This post would have been too long to include that process so I did another post about that. Sorry to tear up your book Mr. I had intended to use the whole page to make the cones forthe wreath but I could not figure out how to make the pointcome to the center of the cone and it align with the inverse point that was made with the edges of the page.

Looking back, I don't know why I didn't like this. Here is the backside of some of the rolls:
