History of the Republic of Egypt. The history of the Republic of Egypt spans the period of modern Egyptian history from the Egyptian Revolution of 1952 to the present day, which saw the toppling of the monarchy of Egypt and Sudan, the establishment of a presidential republic, and a period of profound economic, and political change in Egypt, and throughout the Arab world.
The abolition of a monarchy and aristocracy viewed widely as sympathetic to Western interests, particularly since the ousting of Khedive Isma'il Pasha, over seven decades earlier, helped strengthen the authentically Egyptian character of the republic in the eyes of its supporters. Egypt's first four presidents were all drawn from professional military backgrounds, due in large part to the central role of the armed forces of Egypt in the Revolution of 1952, and oversaw authoritarian governments, with varying limits on political participation and freedom of speech.
Nasser era Revolution of 1952 Suez Crisis Education Sadat era Adventures in Data Analysis-UFO Sightings and Visualizations in CartoDB. Today my project was to visualize time series data in CartoDB.
I discovered CartoDB about two weeks ago, read their blog (check out Fredo Baart’s water current simulation to see if the Alcatraz escapees could have survived) and fell in love. Excited to get started I grabbed the UFO sighting dataset from the National UFO Reporting Center and went to work. It is very easy to get started with the software. Manipulating data within CartoDB wasn’t difficult and I was able to develop a basic torque visualization within 15 minutes.
My very first CartoDB visualization can be found below: If you are using WordPress embedding the map is as simple as pasting the CartoDB url into the page. After 20 minutes I am in love with the software. Best Gadgets to Keep Track of Your Fitness. The UP 24 by Jawbone is light weight, comfortable to wear and stylish.
