Two of my favorite games of all times were the Star Wars : Tie Fighter by Lucas Arts and the Advanced Tactical Fighters ( A.T.F ) made by Jane’s. At the time we played these games with just a simple flight stick featuring 3-4 buttons ( which at the time was considered great ) and the keyboard. Since then game controllers have evolved in such a big way that now we get up to 15 buttons or more on a controller, force feedback, throttle control and more. Just a few days ago we started venturing into the world of game controllers and we have many more to come. Today our game controller comes from Saitek, one of the three top game controller companies in the field that focuses more on game controllers for flight simulators and for that reason their solutions have gained countless fans around the world.

VOR Approach - Part 1
In aviation, a lack of planning can often result in undesirable consequences. As the name implies, VOR approaches are approach procedures which use VORs as the primary navigational aid. This section is the first of two that describes VOR instrument approaches. First will be approaches where the VOR is located away from the airport and Part II covers approaches where the VOR is located on the field. This is the same classification system that was used with the NDB approaches that you studied earlier. Variations of each fundamental type of VOR approach are described and you will fly them all.

A small navigation guide. NDB (Non Directional Beacon) navigation NDB stations are the simplest navaids, which inform us only about the aircraft location in relation to the NDB without any information about distance. Navigation is based on flying from one NDB station to another and the information abort reaching the NDB is acquired by change in the ADF (Advanced Direction Finder) gauge indication – the arrow flips downwards.
