Reading University Fencing Club welcomes both experienced fencers and complete beginners alike. Fencing Fencing is a sport based on swordplay, and is as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. Fencing is divided into three sub-sports, determined by the type of sword used to fight with; each sword has its own set of rules, and challenges. Beginners We offer in the autumn term a 10 week beginners’ course, aimed to bring new fencers with little or no previous experience to a level of proficiency and competence at the sport.

Seacourt Seacourt is a small and sociable fencing club meeting at Seacourt Tennis Club on Hayling Island. Our friendly club members warmly welcome sword fencers of all ages from 7 to 70+ and all standards from complete beginner to experienced international. The Senior Club fences every week (apart from the two weeks over Christmas and New Year and during the month of August) on Thursday from 8.30-11pm. Our Junior section (for youngsters aged 7-14) meets on a Wednesday evening from 7-8pm during term time for a fully structured session of fencing tuition.
